“Touching hearts through God’s unchanging Word in an ever-changing world.”

Vision (the hoped-for future of the congregation’s life and ministry, the Mission Statement accomplished over time):  With the help of God, our prayers, hopes and goals are…

That the body of Christ of Mission Lutheran Church (MLC) become and remain joyfully active in making learners (disciples) of Jesus Christ and of His Word, where the gracious Sacraments are administered according to Christ’s institution for making and growing disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20; also the Constitution of Mission Lutheran Church sections 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0);

That all members become active in regular participation in the congregation’s worship, in individual and corporate prayer, active in one or more of the congregation’s various Bible studies and Christian education classes and in ongoing, active love for one another (John 15:7-17; Acts 2:42, 45-47; Hebrews 10:19-25);

That MLC’s various boards, ministries, committees and teams work efficiently and in unity for the purpose of being a community of faith in Jesus Christ that brings the Word of God to the members of the congregation and to the non-members that are out in the larger community/society of Doña Ana County and beyond, that they work efficiently and in unity for the purpose of providing a welcoming place and presence that shares God’s gracious and unchanging Word and love with people (Romans 12:1-8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13:13);

That all who worship in the divine services at MLC have the experience of being equipped for bearing witness of Jesus Christ to the people with whom they relate (Ephesians 4:11-16);

That the goal of us all and as a congregation be faithfulness to the Holy Scriptures in our conversations, relationships, decisions, fellowship and outreach as the body of Christ and as individual members of the body of Christ, the Church.  God will provide the increase, the numerical growth, of the congregation in those times and to the extent that He wills.  Our prayer will be that most of the numerical growth of the congregation will come as a result of formerly un-churched people coming to faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and into the fellowship of His Church at MLC, incorporated into the above stated vision goals (Matthew 5:1-12; John 4:1-42; Romans 12:9-21; 1 Corinthians 3:5-9).  To that end,

We will work in harmony in the Word of God and in respect for the ministries of our sister congregations of the Rio Grande Circuit, living and practicing the peace that Jesus Christ is among us as believers in Him and as disciples of His Word (Ephesians 2:11-4:6).
